Silver Screen pay homage to African-American culture and
the birth of The Blues
The Creative
Coalition, U.S. Congress and the Benjamin Banneker
Memorial Fund join to celebrate the DVD release of
Honeydripper
Washington, DC (June 18,
2008) – The Creative Coalition will partner
with Member of Congress – including U.S. Senators
Hillary Rodham Clinton, Harry Reid and Mary Landrieu –
the Benjamin Banneker Memorial Fund will honor John
Sayles, the iconic filmmaker and Oscar-nominated
screenwriter, and Emmy award-winning producer Charles S.
Dutton for their achievements, including an homage to
African-American history with the recent DVD release of
the film Honeydripper.
