  • New York, NY (December 20, 2004) -- The Creative Coalition (TCC) commends the New York City Council for last week’s passage of The Empire State Film Production Credit, legislation aimed at stemming the outsourcing of film and television production from New York City. Under the new law, production companies are now allowed a 5% refundable tax credit, in addition to the 10% tax credit already offered by New York State, for filming any feature length film or television episode that spends 75% of its qualified production costs at a New York City stage. more
     

  • New York, NY (November 24, 2004) -- The Creative Coalition will honor those who have shown unwavering support to keep film production in the United States. This year’s Spotlight Awards honorees include Barry Levinson, Lawrence Bender, Frank Oz and the duo of Peter Bart and Charlie Koones, Variety. TCC also will pay a special tribute to its former president Christopher Reeve. more

  • New York City (August 31, 2004) - U.S. Representative Amo Houghton tapped to receive the 2004 Congressional Spotlight Award.  Rep. Houghton is retiring from the U.S. House of Representatives this year after 18 years of service to his upstate district of New York.  more
     

  • New York City (August 31, 2004) - The Creative Coalition (TCC) announces its invitation-only Gala Benefit – Seconding the First ™, A Celebration of the First Amendment to be held during the upcoming Republican National Convention. Rock and Roll great Max Weinberg (drummer, Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band; musical director, Late Night with Conan O’Brien) and the Max Weinberg 7 will be performing. more
     

  • New York City (August 31, 2004) – The Creative Coalition will host this invitation-only forum for Republican leaders which will address the issue of public funding for the arts during the upcoming Republican National Convention. This event is slated to bring together – for the first time during the Convention week -- national leaders from the entertainment, arts, policy and business arenas -- to address U.S. investment in the arts and arts education, and their effect on the national economy. more 
     

  • Boston, MA (July 28, 2004) The Creative Coalition (TCC) announces its invitation-only Gala Benefit to be held at Louis Boston during the upcoming Democratic National Convention in partnership with the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), featuring a special performance by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. more 
     

  • Boston, MA (July 27, 2004) The Honorable Andrew Cuomo will moderate a forum featuring The Honorable Louise Slaughter, The Honorable Harold Ford, Bill O’Reilly, Arianna Huffington, Alan Cumming and Dr. Gottfried Schlaug at the upcoming Democratic National Convention that will bring together national leaders from the entertainment, arts, policy and business arenas to discuss U.S. investment in the arts and arts education, and their effect on the national economy. more
     

  • New York City (July 20, 2004) – The Creative Coalition, in association with Congressional Quarterly Inc., will present the 2004 Congressional Spotlight Award to retiring Louisiana Senator John Breaux in recognition of his 32-year career. more
